Questions
Your prices are quite low when compared to other wedding photographers. Why?
There are two main reasons why my services are less expensive than other photographers.
The first reason is because I have fewer overheads.
Photographers working out of studios need to cover significantly higher costs than one working from home like I do.
The second main reason is because I do not tie in any expensive albums in my packages.
While these albums are beautiful and you may well want one yourself (which can be organised), they come at a significant cost.
Many wedding photographers feel that their work deserves to be showcased in such an album.
I feel differently about my work.
I work for you, you see, not the other way around.
Are you insured? Do you offer any sort of guarantee?
Yes, I have public liability insurance. I can not offer any guarantees, though.
Again, photographers that do have them cost significantly more than me because those sorts of guarantees have overheads.
Please read my Terms of Business for further information.
What is the difference between a photo album and a photo book?
A photo album is as you might traditionally imagine it, being a book that you display printed photos in.
They can be the inexpensive kind with plastic sleeves, the old fashioned 'dry mount' kind that require photo corners to hold the images on the page, right through to the expensive professional albums of which the pages have windows cut into thick card and all the pages are bound together like a book.
A photo book is a more recent digital photo display solution, where your photos are printed onto the actual pages of the album, just like a picture book.
They come in all sorts of sizes with various types of covers; soft or hard back, leather look, canvas or even a printed cover with a photo from you wedding day.
What is a montage?
A montage is a selection of your photos brought together artistically in varying sizes as one photo.
What is reportage style photography? I want to make sure I have nice photos of me with my parents, will you do these?
Reportage style photography refers to the more contemporary method of shooting events as they happen, as a journalist would, rather than contriving stiff or clichéd poses.
I combine the reportage style with the understandable desire for group and family shots (but nothing too stuffy) to ensure that mum will still have something for her brag book.
